YACHT CLUBS OF MARYLAND
REAR COMMODORE’S REPORT
Fleet Captains’ Dinner
I sincerely thank all of the Fleet Captains, their mates, Commodores, and all who attended the Fleet Captain Dinner on January 29, 2012. I received a lot of accolades from those in attendance as to what a benefit this meeting has been to them. Fleet Captains addressed the exchanging, coordinating and communicating information amongst the clubs and discussed cruises around the bay for the 2012 boating season.
I remind everyone that without the 87 plus attendees who came to the meeting; the day would not have been a success.
Remember, if YCM can assist any clubs in any ways; please feel free to contact us.
New Membership Application Received
I have received an application, bylaws and $50 check to cover the application fee, signed by the Commodore Mary Borowy, on behalf of the Golden Anchor Yacht Club. I have researched their Charter and Bylaws, their history and their operation as a Yacht Club and find that they satisfy the Yacht Clubs of Maryland requirements for membership.
The voting to accept them into Yacht Clubs of Maryland will be voted on at YCM March’s membership meeting.
If you know of a club, which is not a member of YCM but wishes to join, please let me know so I may contact them.
Ship’s Log Update
I am so delighted that the Fleet Captains took their job seriously because I have
received to date 18 club pages. For those who have not sent them in -
If you need any assistance, please contact me and I will be happy to assist. Our goal is to distribute them at Marley’s Opening Day.
State Charter for Clubs under YCM
In accordance with YCM’s by laws, under Article VII – Members, Section I. f. “To file all tax papers in accordance with Internal Revenue Service and State of Maryland filings requirements, including Article of Incorporation.”:
I have checked to see if the Clubs under the Yacht Clubs of Maryland are in good standing. There were a few clubs whose status is in bad standing and/or have been forfeited. I will send out an email to all clubs by February 16, 2012 advising you of your club’s status and if in bad standing, where to go on the DAT’s website to get back in good standing.
If you have any questions that I may assist you with, please contact me at jdyodris@verizon.net

Fleet Captains, most importantly, please bring along your mate as you will find out throughout the year your mate will play a very big role in your success.
This is not limited to Fleet Captains only. We welcome anyone who wishes to attend to please do so.
Dress is casual but please do wear your name badge.
If you have not do so as yet, -

Christmas At Laurel Park!!!!!!
Thanks to all who attended and made a fun day at the races at Laurel Park. All of whom I spoke to, said what a great day it was. Remember this is annual event for YCM – and hope to see you all there next year.
My Sincere Thanks:
I want to express my appreciation to all of you for your kind prayers, cards and attending the viewing for mom, Delores Yodris, on her passing. It is a such a heartfelt feeling to know that I was in your thoughts at that time of need.
